Calum is an singer-actor who began performing at a very early age. Lead roles in productions of Mary Poppins and Annie at the age of 10 saw him begin his path to musical theatre. In 2006 he began his undergraduate degree at Keble College Oxford, studying French and Spanish Literature and Linguistics and it was in the first week there that he successfully auditioned for the Internationally-acclaimed collegiate all-male acappella group Out of the Blue. With month-long tours to the West and East Coasts of America, performances in GlenEagles The Empire State Building and the Lincoln Center, two sell-out month runs at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a studio album, Calum learned close harmony very quickly. In 2007, he became President of the group and the team went from strength to strength. A yearly sold-out show in Oxford’s New Theatre to an 1800 strong audience was a particular highlight.
After graduating and a few years spent abroad in France and Spain Calum got a place at The Royal Academy of Music to pursue a Postgraduate diploma in Musical Theatre in 2011-2012. His credits include: John Hinkley in (Oxford Old Fire Station), A-rab in West Side Story (Oxford Playhouse), J. Pierrepont Finch in How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (Lincoln College) and Serge in Art (Eberhardt Productions).
Since leaving RAM, he has worked as an actor in various projects and also as a backing vocalist and session singer under Annie Skates for Capital Voices on Britain’s Got Talent 2013. He has performed with the acclaimed Maida Vale Singers, having recently toured under Danny Elfman for a concert tour celebrating his body of work with Tim Burton and he also regularly performs part of a new elite professional acappella 5-piece directed by ex-Swingle Singer Tobias Hug called BeatVox, which features Ball Zee – three-time Beatboxing Champion of the UK. Calum is very proud to be approaching 2 years as a Jersey Guy!
